Jazz Industry Panel – Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival
In December 2015 I produced this special panel for MWIJF as a free forum for musicians, hosted at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club.
In an industry first, the panel united Australian jazz heavyweights to present a panel discussion and Q&A on the business side of all that jazz. From pitching for festival slots, releasing and promoting an album to international collaborations, publishing, using social media and how to get airplay, this panel discusses music industry principles from a Jazz and improvised music perspective.
Hosted by the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival the forum provided an opportunity to network, gain invaluable industry tips and a glimpse at the behind the scenes workings of Australia’s biggest jazz labels, festivals and clubs.
